
Tiago Coelho
Tiago Coelho holds a degree from the Escola Superior de Dança. He furthered his training at prestigious institutions and renowned programs, including the Batsheva Dance Company (Israel) and Share Dance Intensive (Germany), and completed multiple training seasons in New York and Los Angeles.
As a dancer, he has collaborated with choreographers such as Damien Jalet, Sylvia Rijmer, Victor Hugo Pontes, Marco da Silva Ferreira, Konstantin Koval, Teresa Ranieri, René Vinther Pedersen, Sofia Dias & VÃtor Roriz, Fábio Simões, PatrÃcia Henriques, and Pedro Ramos, among others. He has also been part of companies such as Quorum Ballet and Vortice Dance Company.
Since 2019, as a creator and performer, he has been developing contemporary dance work in collaboration with Catarina Casqueiro, with whom he created Matiik (2020), Deux Same (2021), Matomari No Nai (2023), and Forget me Not (2024). His work has been presented at major festivals such as MasDanza (Spain), Straybirds Dance Platform (Taiwan), Choreography Competition 2022 Jerusalem, and International Choreographic Competition Hannover (Germany).
In 2024, they received support from the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists, in partnership with the Companhia de Dança de Almada.
Tiago Coelho is also a contemporary dance teacher, with experience in various national and international schools, including the Escola Superior de Dança. He has been awarded several prizes, including 1st place at the Prospettiva Danza Teatro International Prize (Italy) and multiple recognitions at Teatri Riflessi (Italy), SoloDuo (Germany), and the International Choreographic Competition Linkage (Bulgaria).
